Hindu temple in Houston

We took a trip to Houston with our friend who was visiting from Boise, Sumathy. I love comparing the Hindu temples with LDS temples and seeing the similarities.

You can see that most of the tall trees don't have leaves. So in a way we do have winter time.But, as you can see we also have leaves out on the smaller trees. So we do have spring time to look forward to!!!!

Our New Little Home!!

Our bathroom is very interesting. The toilet and the tub are separated by a wall. It's pretty nice when one has to go while the other is in the shower. The vanity is behind the toilet room.
Next to the living room, there is a door which opens to our bedroom. Here is our wonderful King size bed. The room has just enough space on either side of the bed to walk and there is a closet and desk behind the photographer.
If you look at the picture below, across the bottom you can see the top of a chair. The picture above is of Jey sitting in that chair. The bookshelf is full of antique books. Some of them have yellow pages.
So here is our little cottage. It has a kind of rustic, woodsy, homey feel to it. We love it!
As you walk in, and look to your left, you get a view of the living room. This was taken before we put our computer on that desk behind Jey. Notice the real butterflies hanging on the wall. The sliding glass door opens to a foresty back yard which I will show another time.

Here in the states we have a tradition called a wedding shower. It is held a week or two before the wedding and all the women involved get together and help prepare the bride for her big day. We tell stories and play funny games and open gifts.
This was just after Christmas, and we continue to receive gifts in the mail for our wedding still. It has been a never-ending Christmas this year!!!!!
I'll try to name all the women in attendance from left to right. These wonderful women in my life helped become the woman I am today.

One day I made the mistake of throwing a little snow in Jey's face. I should have known what would happen next! He picked me up and dropped me in the snow and buried me in it!!!!!

Toward the beginning of December it started to snow and it has hardly stopped since!! This is how we have to dress every time we go outside since it has been between zero and 30 degrees Fahrenheit for the past several weeks.

It's a wonder that we made it back at all without sliding into the swamp lands. It was like a tightrope for the automobile.

On our way home, we saw a huge lake and decided to take a stop and enjoy the gorgeous scenery. It took a while to figure out how to get to the lake, but we finally found the strangest road I have ever seen.
It was built up out over the flats right into the lake! The lake obviously runs over it depending on the water level, making it the worst road I have ever seen in my life. Even Rexburg roads don't compare! It was quite the adventure to end our Montana adventure.

Shooting...photos that is. We are great at shooting photos. The only downside to living in the mountains is that you have to drive a lot to get anywhere. Jey and I decided to use our time well by practicing for our next modeling show.

After a while, we started to get really hungry, so we decided to go hunt some dinner in the forrest. I believe Jey is one of the best shooters in town. Maybe I'll find out if we actually use bullets next time.

On Saturday we went to the local market. It almost felt like we were in a different country. It was so old fashioned and quaint. they had every type of produce and homemade craft you can imagine. Jey is thinking about getting a job here as soon as he graduates.

Arrival in Montana

In August, we took a trip to Montana to see our friends, Austin and Desee Ragsdale. We drove for five hours and only saw about two small towns. Mostly we just saw lots and lots of mountains and plains and trees and even some wildlife. It was so beautiful!!

In July, I spent ten days at a music festival in New Hampshire. Here is a picture of me with my string quartet right after our concert. Below are group pictures of participants. They came from all over the world, including Cyprus, Israel, and Ireland. The theme of the festival was "Playing for Peace." This is a blog about our story. To put it succinctly, Jey's roommate, Austin Ragsdale, introduced us on April 6th, 2008. Jey asked me out that Friday, and we have been together ever since. It was love at first sight! I had never been a believer in that before, (as I had never fallen in love before) but when I saw Jey, a familiar tune came to mind..."then I saw your face, now I'm a believer. .."
